Born in Mishawaka, Indiana, Jo was raised by two parents who are still married (living in Pensacola, Florida) and is the oldest of five children. She was raised as a military dependent traveling and attending schools in Japan, Germany, Turkey, Cuba, Washington, D.C., Pensacola, Florida and Honolulu, Hawaii. Jo also worked for Navy Security for 2 years while in Washington, D.C. which required a top-secret clearance with Navy Intelligence.
